Crime is crime, don't relate it with other aspects

Ongoing ‘No More Asifa Campaign’ started by the different social, youth and student’s organization organized a seminar on Sexual Violence and Socio-Economic Status: An Assessment of Law And Justice For Rape Victim at Ambedkar Hall, Jammu on Sunday.
In the seminar Panelists from different walk of life participated and condemned Raped and murder of eight years old Nomad girl Asifa in Tehsil Hiranagar of Kathua district.
While addressing, Advocate Talib Hussain, who is also spearheading the moment narrated the wrath of Police and administration they have been facing from day first.
He said that Crime branch of Police arrested the two accused in this case, first a juvenile and then a SPO Deepak Khajuriya.
“The family member of victim Asifa, even the entire nomad community in the area is being threaten by some elements”, he said and added that they were not even allowed to collect drinking water by the majority community of the area. “They are being intimidated to leave the place or get ready to face consequence”, he said, Talib also expressed his gratitude of civil society for showing solidarity wth the victim family. “I’m happy that some peace loving people, who believe in equality and justice for all are supporting us”, he added.  Further on
Iqbal Bhatt, a scholar, who has been working over nomad community in state, said that rule of law need to be established in country. “The Community, is facing discrimination since long”, he said and added that“No work on the community has been done, one access some literature about the community from Archive Department, too in Urdu and Gojri language”, he said and added that the students from the community also suffering from social stigma. “There are not confident to reveal their identity as Bakkarwal, as they have met discrimination for being nomad”, Bhatt said and added that even the doctors, if the nomads visit hospital do not touch them. He Said that oppressor sometime used Rape as tool to generate fear and insecurtiy among others and added that near about eighty percent of rape case done by the known persons. And same like that happened in this case. For this fair investigation is need able.
Another Scholar, Ruchi while speaking on the occasion said that despite being able to do anything equal to men, the women are being considered as weak, and inefficient by the Patriarch Indian society. ‘Even religions texts discriminates the women’, she said, and added that whether it belongs to lower, middle or upper class, cast or any religion  women discriminated  in their life number of time.  She said we have been caged by the Patriarchy. Sometime you, yourself start thinking like patriarchal and even you do not know about it. Even male has a disadvantage with Patriarchy.  Male get extra economic and security burdens.  So it is the need of the hour that we make our society aware about it.  And make a nation where man and women will be equal.‘she said.
Advocate Pawan Kundal in his address said that the crime against women is not new, one can find assault on the dignity of women in ancient history as well”, he said  and added that Goutam Buddha, Mahtma pulley and Dr. Ambedkar were struggled for the equals rights for women. and he also discussed some provision of laws that provide free and fair investigation to a victim.
Another Scholar, Meesha Bhagat said we must see the thing in broader canvas and crime is crime and it cannot be relate with community, religion or cast and questioned why the social identity of rape victim or any other victim is disclosed. “A woman is woman, whether she belongs any religion or caste, she suffers like other women. ”, she added. “In case of Asifa, as her identity, as nomad also remain prime focus; the culprits are getting support from some section of society on the basis of religion. And the culprit had admitted that he committed the gruesome crime to create fear among the nomad community in the area”, she said. In power relation women are always considered as weak as compare to males.’ Males also keep them on higher position in hierarchy, so women have less scope in the society,’ She said.  

Advocate, Ashok Kumar Basotra, in his address appreciating participation of youth in the campaign said that youth shows as ray of hope.
“Free and fair investigation, mean unbiased conduct of investigation without any influence, Police have role to collect the evidence in very independent way, but in India, the influential highjack the investigation, where a sitting judge, hear case against himself, the Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath dismisses all case against him”, he said and added that as per constitution of India, except of sitting President of India and Governors have immunity, but that too till their term is completed. “Once their term gets completed they can be summoned”, he added. “We need to established rules of law in the country, once it is done, even the Prime Minister of Country cannot escape the action”, he said. Expressing resentment against Hiranagar Police for allowing some people to take out rally in favor of culprits, he said that Police can arrest them. “We respect all women, but we also expect justice for our daughters, if they go against us, certainly they will be next target of inhuman act, as they are supporting the culprits. Advocate Basotra said that No doubt some rape cases may be false but when in the actual rapped cases victim does not get conviction. It is not good for health democratic nation. He also said that in any investigation, DNA test play good role with 100 percent conviction, if a free and fair investigation and trial is important.
